Mrs. R. E. Burnham Dead

Anna Emma Green was born at March Cambridgeshire, England, February 2nd, 1831 and died at her home in Ivy township Lyon county Kansas August 2nd 1908 at the ripe age of 77 years and 6 months.

She came to America in 1852 and located in Monroeville, Ohio, where she was married to R. E. Burnham in 1854. They came to Kansas 1869 and located at their present home.

She became a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church when at the age of twenty years. After coming to this country she joined the M. E. Church of which denomination she has been a faithful member until the time of her death.

There were born to them four boys and two girls. Wm. Robert who died in infancy at Clide, Ohio, W. H. who resides at Sterling, Kansas, A. E. whose home joins the homestead, Robert G. who is still at home, Agnes A. Michales, of Nickerson, Kan., and Lizzie J. Stephens, of Quinter, Kan.

She is survived by her husband and five children who were present at her death bed and mourn her departure.

The funeral services were held at the Ivy M. E. Church at 10 o'clock Tuesday August 4. The large number in attendance at such a busy time speaks well for the respect and esteem which she held in the community.

Thus ends the life of one who was loyal to the God of her choice, and his church and cause. And having begun the life triumphant, her memory will ever serve as an inspiration to those who stand for the principals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The community joins in an expression of sympathy with those who mourn.
