Stroke Proves Fatal

Allen A. Stephens, 80, Active Until Last Passes Suddenly Wednesday

Allen Archer Stephens, 80, died Wednesday at his home at 531 South Sycamore a few hours after he suffered a stroke during the forenoon. In spite of his age, Mr. Stephens, who was unusually active, was employed up until the last on a Meadow Gold milk route.

He came to Wichita from Greensburg, Kan., in 1918. He was a member of the Methodist church and was a past grand master of the Odd Fellow lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Lizzie J., three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Fossey, Nickerson, Kan., Mrs. Hazel Woodmansee, Pleasant Hope, MO., and Mrs. Myrtle (should be Myrle) Wolfe, 531 South Sycamore: six sons, Ray, 2137 Wellington Place, Harry, Twin Falls, Idaho, Chester, Visalia, Cal., Ralph 132 1/2 Jackson, Charles, 1710 West Douglas, and Verne, 156 South Kessler: three sisters, Mrs. Etta Beer, Guymon, Okla., Mrs. Mina Way, Woodward, Okla., and Mrs. Laura Smith, 1915 Jackson: a half- brother Bert Cline, Topeka, 25 grandchildren and a great-grand-child.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Culbertson.
